Not necessarily. I live two hours from Lake Tahoe, 2 1/2 from Reno and Carson City. I don't collect every chip from every casino, and the casinos aren't as accessible to me as they are to others. Ask George Conrad or Chuck Smorse, who have new-issue services in Las Vegas, how much they spend on gas driving around that city. I've traded of plenty of chips at face at sold plenty of LEs at $8 and haven't heard a complaint yet. Al lives in Reno, and if his price for a $5 chip is $7, more power to him.
