I do not have the picture of the new Western Village $1.00 chips from Sparks, however, Al Golovin has a bunch of them he picked up for anyone interested. A scan was posted which is in the archives if one wishes to look. These are not a new issue chip, just a new chip of the same old version used for many years.
The price is $2.00 each plus $1.00 postage for up to 10 chips.
In addition, he has the Silver Legacy "snake chips" and I understand that the Circus Circus chips were suppose to be released this afternoon, Harrah's chips will be available this weekend according to the cage personel.
For those wishing any of the above listed chips, please e-mail me and I will get the message to Al. He will be out of town for about 2 weeks which means your shipment will be delayed until then. If this is an inconvenience for you, I apologize for Al, however, I hope the price will compensate for the delay.
Considering his initial announcement was last night, the response has been overwhelming. Many people have expressed their positive attitude and well wishes for his new competitive service.
Oh yes, let me mention if it was not already clear before, The $1.00 postage charge is for a combination of any chips of any denomination up to 10.
On a related subject, Al received a comment from someone suggesting that his prices were too cheap. Al responeded that he realized his prices are inexpensive but making a huge profit (if any) was not his motive. That and the fact that Reno issues such few new commemmoratives as compared to say, Las Vegas, means that he will not be spending a majority of his time gathering chips all year long.
Most of the new chip services in Las Vegas are charging a reasonable price, considering all the chips being issued, all the different casinos in all parts of the city, and the hastle they have to go through to get them. Reno, on the other hand is a completely different situation.
