Here's a copy:
Mr. Taylor,
I, too, was at the chip show and met your two representatives. I'm sure they will relay to you just how unwelcomed they were.
I urge you to reconsider your company's plan on invading the casino chip hobby with grades and slabs. It will save us all a lot of trouble and time.
You must have been advised by a select few in our hobby that this was a good idea and could lead to great profits for you and them. Unfortunately, as all families have an embarassing uncle, our hobby also has a few very greedy, unethical members who only want to line their pockets. They are in the minority and the rest of us are stronger than you may have imagined.
This is a HOBBY to most of us. It seems you can't understand that. It is obvious that you, and others who aren't in the hobby, refuse to accept that people will be involved with something they love just for fun.
Holding an encapsulated chip is NOT fun. I learned that from your reps. Did they look around the show and see all the other dealer's tables that had collectors sitting with them, pulling chips out of the binders and holding them in their hands? Holding two chips side by side, up to the light, or in a stack? Did they get it? Do you get it?
Sincerely,
Tyrus Mulkey
