I had a conversation with Henry at 10AM right after I heard he had them.
(Actually I knew he had them several days ago,)
I asked Henry if he had them and warned him in the same breath not to show them to me.
He told me he had been warned and had desided not to put them out. I told him if he did I would be forced to post his name. As I said we are friends, this conversaton was two friends talking.
I passed his table about an hour later, Henry was showing them to Ric Chandgie.
Ric is the guy that posted on the club board that slabbing was not bad for the hobby. I questioned Ric in that thread. Barry Weintraub answered that Ric was a new member and long time friend. I apoligized for questioning Ric.
It turns out Ric is a dealer in slabbed Baseball Cards. He has entered our hobby to purchase high end chips (which he did purchase) at the trade session and I assume at the show. He intends to sell the high end chips after they are slabbed. I guess he is one of the "new collectors", that James Taylor told us would be exposed to our hobby through slabbing. I suggest he is not a collector but an investor/speculator that intends to make money off of us.
Henry left the slabbed chips out, as I passed the table several more times and they were there.
I did express my disapointment to Barry. I felt Barry mislead me in the thread on the club BB concerning Ric Chandgie.
I truly feel bad over the dicension the slabbing issue is and will be causing in our club and hobby. I love this hobby, but I will call attention to anyone that tries to tell me what is good for my hobby when I know d*mn well IT IS NOT!
