As a preference, I would much rather have a chip uncluttered. If I were to collect chips that I thought would add to my net worth considerably, I would not be collecting commemoratives. In addition, unless you personally saw the "celebrity" sign the chip or whatever, one can't be sure it is not a forgery.

Some the these new chips are so cluttered as it is, an ink signature scribbled all over would make it even more difficult to even read. Just my thought.
