... by telling the world what we collect and who we are. I can't think of any better way so closely relating to numismatics than by our club joining a few more of the larger coin clubs not only in the USA, but in Europe, as well. There are large shows in The Nederlands, France and the UK (and Asia as well) that have been frequented by our very own club members who not only live abroad, but who traveled from California, Nevada and the Midwest.
Presently, our club is a member of the American Numismatic Assoc. (ANA) and the Florida United Numistmatists (FUN) where we've been fortunate to have a club table at each yearly convention for as long as I can remember -- for virtually no cost when compared to being on the convention floor smack in the middle of the midway action where dealers pay from $400 to over $1000 for a single table.
I've manned our club table at FUN for about 3 or 4 years representing the CC>CC and the Floridian Chapter, and enjoyed every moment behind the table extending goodwill and inviting collectors to come join us.
I see no reason why we should not be more active by joining a few additional coin clubs as a club and on an individual basis where our chapters can give talks; members exhibit their collections; write short articles of current intersts and trends to pass out to the thousands of visitor who stop at every table filling their little shopping bags of printed material to read at a later date.
What better way to enhance the status and visibility of our club and hobby through exposue and exhibiting in an arena so closely related to our interests.
