Actually, I think if the club "adopts" the numbering system and all of the members that use the price guides complain enough, the authors would be a little more willing to update their databases to include the new numbers. Besides, if the members got together and formed a sort of "committee" (as much as I hate to use that word) to set up a numbering system, then we could get with the authors and let them know that we could help them with converting or cross-referencing their numbers so we may all be a little more organized. I don't think there's more than a handfull of collectors out there that can tell you (without looking) which casino TCR# N3396 is from.
I think that we can come up with enough people willing to put an hour or two into it that we could have the data input within a week or so for all of the chips that are currently listed in any book. All we would have to do then is come up with a standard software for people to use to input the data.
