Official CC&GTCC Chip Guides ...

... well, this looks like a good time to post something I have been mulling over for some time. In one of his posts below, Archie suggests that the club consider designating The Chip Rack as an "official" CC>CC publication.

I'm prepared to propose a formal procedure by which the club would review and evaluate any chip guide or publication for the purpose of providing some form of club sanction or recognition ("official" or otherwise).

I believe this process should involve establishing a standard set of guidelines for chip publications to receive such a designation. I have some such guidelines in mind already, but would be interested in seeing what anyone else has to suggest in that regard.

One such consideration, for example, might be adherence to the Club's standard condition guide/definitions (yeah, I know, we don't have any such thing yet, but we will). Another might be no promotion of slabbed chips/tokens. A third might be use (at least as an alternative to any other system) of a standard CC>CC numbering system (a suggestion which relates to advice I received from my #1 son, an intellectual property lawyer, regarding how the chip guide authors could prevent slabbers from using their numbers).

Any other thoughts? ----- jim o\-S
