Two points:
I am not in favor of slabbing.
I do not support a prohibition on slabbed chips at our convention. - Lets educate, not legislate.
I agree with Rene's analysis. The anti-slabbing movement will not be seen in the best light when wearing the t-shirts. They will be at a competitive disadvantage when presenting their position. Many people will not be able to get past focusing on the shirt and will not hear the rational arguments against slabbing.
The shirts also place the hobby and the club in a negative light. I realize that all involved have the best interests of the club at heart but there are certainly better ways to get the point across.
I want our club to be thought of as a 1st class organization that is professionally run. Because I have a background in corporate management, I understand how important presentation is when you are putting forth your point of view. Presentation is also vital in how our club is perceived by others - especially potential new members and potential corporate partners such as the casinos. The club shoud be valued for what we have done and will continue to do for the hobby, for our educational mission, for our wonderful convention and magazine and so much more.
