I think the simplest way to put it is, if you are selling a chip to a fellow club member, the club membership is the buyer's credibility voucher, his or her word is good enough for the transaction to take place when terms are agreed upon. Non-club member transactions should be treated like any other retail sale by a regular business until a regular relationship has been established by the two parties. It's paid for before it leaves the store if you don't have any history with the buyer. You wouldn't send one of your products to someone who just told you that they'd pay for it if you didn't know something about them.
.....BTW, I did get a Gilpin New Years 2000 to re-send to you yesterday. The post offices on the east coast let me down big time last month, three undelivered packages. :-(
