Hello. My intentions are to grade my duplicate chips to ensure an equitable trade for both parties when trading my duplicates. In a perfect world, I would only obtain uncirculated chips. Until that happens, any suggestions on grading will be greatly appreciated. I have read the excellent "grading" chapter in the second edition of The Official U.S. Casino Chip Price Guide and was wondering if anyone has any additional information to add. It is my understanding that a universal chip grading standard has not be developed. I know the topic of a "grading" standard has been discussed on the board but don't recall hearing a conclusion on how it should be addressed. Figured I'd ask before spending hours grading 100's of chips only to discover there is a preferred method already established. Any help will be appreciated.
