12 1/2 cent chips & trade tokens & outhous
In Response To: Re: $2.50 Chip History? ()

The 12 1/2 cent chips are Club Bingo downtown 1962 to 83. And Sans Souci on the strip. 1955 to 62. Later became the Castaways & now is the Mirage volcano. Or approximate location there of. I do not know of this odd denomination for a chip anywhere else in Nevada. Originally this was a value used on old "Good For In Trade" metal tokens. Dating back before 1900 up through the 1900's when many saloons used this "script" in house. 12 1/2 cents is one bit. Other tokens were 6 1/4 & many were just 5 cents. This is another hobby of mine. Many old Las Vegas hotels & saloons issued these. Many are super rare.
I have found quite a few while digging outhouses for old bottles. Anyone else collect these? Or dig outhouses?
