With the exception of Gene, I would venture to say that there is not a single casino marketing executive in Las Vegas who is more attuned to our hobby than Mark. He has attended every convention since becoming the Four Queens "chip man", he reads this board every day, he diligently reviews all the eBay chip listings and he is in constant communication with the dealers and collectors who buy his chips. Whether or not you agree with the number of chips he produces, Mark is always striving to do new and different things for our hobby: interesting mintages, cool two-sided artwork and unique holidays. He was the first to commemorate Secretaries Day, United Nations Day, Tax Day, the All-Star Baseball game, March Madness, Leap Year, Earth Day, Flag Day, Election Day and probably a few others that I can't think of off the top of my head.
Mark brought National attention to our hobby when he commemorated Las Vegas Mayor Oscar Goodman on a chip. 60 Minutes and Newspapers all across the country made mention of these chips.
My prediction is that Mark will be rewarded at this years National convention when his 1040/Tax Day chip wins 2000's "Chip of the Year" and he rightfully deserves it. Keep up the good work Mark, I and many others appreciate all that you do. As you always tell me..... "We try harder!".
