Peter,
I too have been waiting for this argument, and will go one point further.
Lets talk about the problem of chipaholism. We have all, including myself< said that slabbing is bad. So the problem is not the slabbs, but the lack of education about the dangers of slabbs, and the fact that some of us have a lack of self control when it comes to buying chips. (chipaholics) People with this disorder will have a predisposition to purchase slabbed because they will be able to rationalize there need for the chip is greater then there oposition to slabbing.
The last thing we should do to these freinds of ours is to push them out into the crule worldand dark allys to fall pray to the slabb dealers. It would be better to have them confront their problem in a loving enviroment (the convention), with slabbs present, so that with the support of there freinds, they will be able to overcome there urge to purchse these slabbed devils.
By supporting each other and the hobby as a whole, the desire to slabb chips will evaporate.
A dealer, regardless what some may think, needs customers. The members of this club are a large portion of their customer base. If the come to the convention, (a HUGE portion of most show dealers sales year) and see that there customers are aposed to slabbing, they will quickly change there minds about the practice. If we bann slabbs from the show, then all will be peacefull, but the dealers will not get the message that they need to SEE, not just hear.
