You didn't give us a lot to work with here, but this particular critiscm of ICG appears to be unwarranted.
From what I read it appears that somebody had come forward and claimed a problem with some slabbed coins.
His response had nothing to do with the collector not being free to do what they wish with the slab. He is pointing out those things which he believes are evidence that somebody tampered with the slab, demonstrating that it was not ICG but some outside person who caused the problem.
remember years back when there was the tampering with Tylenol that led to some deaths. Would you have objected to a spokesman from Tylenol writing a letter to the editor pointing out that the cyanide was not placed in the capsules by Tylenol, but by some unnamed maniac? Of course you wouldn't.
Whether or not the slab was tampered with I don't know, but i also don't know who put the cyanide in the Tylenol.
You can be against slabbing without jumping on ICG for imaginary transgressions.
