Although I am not paying with Pay Pal on an E-bay auction, the seller sent me the following information relating to payment.
------------------------------------------------
I accept Postal Money Orders and Personal Checks
~ OR credit card payments through Paypal. (A PROCESSING FEE APPLIES TO CREDIT CARD PAYPAL PAYMENTS.).
Your MAIL-IN payment due is: $18.50/$19.60 (insured)
~ OR ~
Your PAYPAL payment due is: $19.24/$20.34 to cindem@msn.com (.74 processing fee)
**I am maintaining a PayPal account for the convenience of bidders who wish to pay using their credit card. PayPal levies a charge on this account for credit transactions based upon this scale: .30 for payments $15.00 and under; 2.4% + .30 for payments over $15.00. The PayPal payment amount included in this notice reflects those charges.
-------------------------------------------------
I just checked the Pay Pal site and note that Pay Pal charges 2.2% + .30¢
I am wondering it ever was 2.4%?
Is this just a way for the seller to increase the cost over what Pay Pal actually charges?
I've checked most of the seller's auctions and note that all their auctions are noted...
(*a PayPal processing fee will apply to all PayPal transacations!)
I am not really concerned about the fact that they are asking this insomuch as the fee doesn't jive with what I find on Pay Pal.
