Michael,
I have pretty sat on the sideline on this one. The last time I jumped into the fray on a controversial issue, I got my head chopped off. I agree with you 100%. I am totally against slabbing chips. And like Archie, I too WAS a coin collector who previously had slabbing experiences. The one point that you make that deserves the highest praise is:
"5. Despite my own strong opinions, I am absolutely and unalterably opposed to the CC>CC taking punitive action against members who collect slabbed chips or
dealers who sell them. That's censorship in its most dangerous form. If the Club can decide that slabbed chips and those who collect and deal in them can be banned, what's to prevent the Club from banning dice collectors or roulette collectors or slot card collectors? Again, the marketplace will determine the fate of slabbing."
I do not like others make decisions for me nor do I like making decisions for others. I think the way to go to is to EDUCATE, not LEGISLATE. That is the American Way, to have the freedom to choose. When someone else makes a decision for you, your freedom, your right to choose, is taken away.
It is good to have you back and thanks for so eloquently sharing your views with us.
