Las Vegas Developer to Build Casino on 77-Acre Site, Papers Say

(Bloomberg) -- New World LLC, a Las Vegas- based developer, plans a hotel and casino at the south end of the Las Vegas Strip next to McCarran International Airport, the Las Vegas Sun and Las Vegas Review-Journal reported.

New World said it would build on a 77-acre parcel it acquired across the Strip from the Mandalay Bay casino. The company, which didn't release further details, will hold a press conference tomorrow, the papers said.

The development would include a 40-story tower. The plans would have violated earlier restrictions on building height near the airport, but the Federal Aviation Authority lifted the restrictions, the Sun reported.

The casino will also have a convention center and fine arts facility, the papers said.
