If two or three of these slabbing companies who have
been scouting around for graders via phone and
e-mail are planning on slabbing current and common
chips that will cost an additional $10 per unit, who
in their right mind will even think of buying one
when this material is available to anyone on-line at
a small premium over face or through organized and
established subscription services such as yours that
are advertised. Is their target going to be those
who do not know there's an organized network; it
certainly won't be us who buy the common material from them...and this where I have a
problem seeing how they can even get a foothold in
our hobby...let alone where some say we're "doomed"
and that we'll be "destroyed" in 5-years. These are
some pretty wild predictions I would think for such
a small market as ours....we can't be any more than
five or six thousand strong (active)...or even
10,000 strong counting European casino token
collectors (Strikes included).
I really don't see where they stand a chance other
than in the investment-grade material.
This week, in Orlando (FUN) where the largest coin show in the world is being held, there will be found every slabbing company known. I don't see them shouting the end of the world is near...and they've been exposed to slabbing from the onset.
