I've never seen a raised rim such as this on a
Mother-of-Pearl (Nacre).

I checked Dale's work and find nothing, and I
checked Caro (France) catalogs from the turn of the
last century (19th) and find nothing.

Does anyone have any idea as to what the
design/symbol is? Looks kind of Aztecanish to me.
