That was my point. I collect roulettes as well. Should the club legislate morality, in that we should or should not collect roulettes? Or maybe come down hard on Tournament chips? I don't think so.
As for slabbed, maybe someone who knows a good reason, would post it. I don't think all the shouting and anger has added much to the logical argument, against slabbing. I'd like to know, since it's unlikely I'll ever own one. I collect coins and still own none slabbed. It must be something about the high price items. If I got the one missing cent for my collection, 1909-S VDB, and it was slabbed, I'd have to break it out, so I could put it into a book with the rest. <G>
In fact for all the different things I collect, accumulate or save, I don't think I have one of anything, encapsulated in plastic (aka slabbed, for those who have been asking) I have no desire to own something like that.
Now one more question about the grading service, which stuck out like a sore thumb when I read the Managers post on the Club BB. (and one more reson I'd against any grading system) Has anyone here every refused a chip or thought they were getting tainted goods because of "excessive cleaning"? He listed that as a reason to refuse grading a chip, and I didn't even know something like that existed for chips. Low grade cigarette burns, nichs, warps, holes, but Cleaning?
Just why we don't need any, so called, scientific grading system!
