While I know I have no use for slabbing or slabs chips I don't see the major problem with it. As far as I know the slabbing of chips is legal although I have not followed the debate too much. If there is no use for the slab company and they get no business how long can they be a threat to the hobby?
I consider myself an active roulette collector and know that it is not fully legal and am aware of the consequences of my actions. If you think the club should not allow slabbed chips or the companies that provide the service to be involved with the hobby through the club convention and club magazine because of the potential threat to the hobby why not ban roulette chips from both also? Wouldn't it go against the club's ethics to help promote an illegal activity like roulette collecting?
BTW I am not calling for any controls over roulette collecting or any other part of the hobby. I live in NJ and know I can't buy a car on Sunday because its the law. I also know that I am breaking the law by taking roulettes from the casinos. I only ask why those that are taking such a stand against slabbing are not shouting so loudly to stop the dealing in stolen merchandise-roulettes?
