WE NEED A "SLABBING" TRUCE

This argument is getting too heated. It is clear where we stand but even some who want to stand in the middle add fuel to the fire of the debate with unkind remarks. Let's cool it. I see where some have a problem with the Club continuing to prohibit displays or sales or slabbed chips but have no desire to engage in angry diatribe with some of my good friends who oppose slabbing in any form--as if it was pornography that we were attacking. I see where some want an open discussion on the merits of slabbing and that I believe cannot be a bad thing. I have read the numerous posts that go in that direction and found them helpful in arriving at my decision to oppose slabbing. But even some of the informative posts have included some angry shots.

I'm on Jim's list and will remain there as I believe slabbing is one additional thing that will hurt our hobby. I was sorry to have read Steve Wells' post for the reason earlier stated. But I intend to continue to buy Steve & Jim's guide in the future. I would like to see informed articles on slabbing--pro and con--in the Club mag and on our home page. I would like to see a "Point/Counter Point" discussion at the Convention. I do not fear pro-slabbing information as some appear to do. But I do fear unreasoned emotional responses pro or con. And I most especially dislike seeing friends engage in acrimonious disputes.
