I have never personally been in contact with any slabbing company in regards to slabbing chips. Period. They have never contacted me. In fact, I think it was very presumptuous of them to start grading and slabbing chips without talking to anyone in the hobby first. Rene's statement was wrong, IF he said it. Besides, I couldn't start a slabbing company if I wanted to (and I DON'T want to). The equipment costs tens, if not hundreds of thousands of dollars. Get real. If I am ever contacted by a slabbing company in the future, I will say that chip collectors are not ready for their service. But I think they know that fact by now. That's why I assume they are really trying to reach coin people. Why else would they use an MS system on the holder?
Finally, I would like to point out, hopefully for the last time, that neither the first or second edition of our book promotes slabbing of chips - only grading. There is a difference.
