Allan,
So far my Mother is convinced that his initials were molded into the chips. Hopefully, I will have an actual chip or two in the next couple of weeks. I will be sure to scan them in. Remember that these were never used, as my Grandfather died just before opening day. Evidently he was up against the mobs out of Cisero and E. St. Louis, neither of which moved in when he died. Political connections were important there, in the Capital city, and evidently my Grandfather got the Mayor elected and he (the Mayor) was not tied to anyone else. He suddenly became an independent.
The family also tells me of loaded dice for the clubs. Loaded meaning dice with threes and fours only. Pretty easy to throw a seven! My Mother calls them "bust-out" dice. There shoud be some of these also, but I believe they are genrics.
The Harmony Hall chips should be rather distinctive, with the musical bar. The name comes from the bar and grill for which it started as, which was actually called Ray Smith's Harmony Hall. After my Grandfather bought the bar he dropped the Ray Smith's.
Thanks. Jim Follis (in LA)
