A call to Mr. Trimble. Rumor here in Colorado is, the Central Palace in Central City will close on or about January 7th. I heard that the company that bought the Fiesta had to include the Central Palace in the deal as part of the package, and they have no desire to keep it open.

If true, that'll leave 6 Central City casinos remaining that are currently open. During the 1st 2 years of legalized limited gaming in Colorado, 29 different casinos opened in Central City. More opened after those dates, but the early years were when Central City was the boomtown in the battle between Black Hawk and Central City. It's sad to watch Central City die....again.......
