Hi Everyone.
Wow archie what a question to ask me.
I was trying to stay away from the subject.
I have a couple of views.
#1
My dealer view:
I am against slapping. Let's say I have 1000 different chips I offer for sale.
And they charge $10 per chip. Well now I will have to invest $10,000 just so someone else tells me how nice my chip is. I don't think so.
People on here say well its great for the expensive chips. People know exactly what they get. Well I don't have that problem. I just give my customers a money back gurantee and they know that. And i try to describe them as good as possible.
So as a dealer I am against slapping.
My Collectors view :
Well my last count of my collection was about 2300 different chips.
I am not gonna pay $23,000 to grade my whole collection. And then go out and keep on upgrading my chips in better MS condition. That would take all of the fun out of it for me. So again i am totally against it.
Now my promoter view :
Well this was a though one. I am a promoter and not a judge. I guess according to the poll's 31% of people are in favor of slapping. Anybody who wants a booth can have one. As long as i still have some availabel. There are gonna be dealers there which i don't have a great history with. I will not go against them. Its like me saying i don't agree with roulette collectors so i won't let anybody set up with roulette chips. BTW i do love roulettes. I guess what i am trying to say is i am not for it. But this is a free country and i feel as a promoter its my duty to be neutral and let everybody's voice be heard. As long as they follow my rules at the show. I think that is the right thing to do.
But you won't see me slapping any chips.
Best Regards
Rene Nezhoda
