Howdy! I was directed to this site by Mel Jung, and appreciate all the posts in response to my reward offer on ebay. The reward amount is small, compared to the chips, but my greatest loss is from the thrill I had each time I came across a new chip. I have traded for 20 years with Bruce, and 15 years with Steve in Napa, and Travis, and David and Mel and Doug and so many of you. I always felt quite independent, and did as I pleased over the years. That is probably why I let my membership lapse. I was member number 67, and very proud to be part of Archies new Club.
I do not feel quite so independent now, and am going to rejoin the club immediately. Along those lines, I will be interested in trading what little I have left - and also in trading copies of my book for a few extra chips you might have.
As for a list of chips taken my home in Gig Harbor, WA - it is too extensive to be of use, I believe, as many collectors have the same chips. However, there are a few items that would certainly stand out. My Harrah's Reno and Tahoe small Greek Key set included 2 of each chip from 25 cent to $100 with the exception of the $100 of which there was just one of each variety. There was also a box of arrow/die chips from the Ace Club - no denominations - blue/2 white stripes, red/2 blue stripes, green/3 mustard stripes. These would stand-out, as I have not seen them offered anywhere.
Beyond that, the reward is real - small as it is, and I would be happy to give it to anybody that can help me obtain some or all of the chips - however that might be.
And thank you to Mel, who has already said he is sending me a "care-package" of chips to get me started again. And:
Since I am starting over, maybe this is all for the best. I can once again feel the thrill of finding a new chip, even if it is just a Sahara Tahoe metal insert that was once covered with dirt. Hey, I feel better already!
