I was surprised that no one commented on my post here the other day. I'll try again. I realize now that the reason is that I was in too much of a hurry and left out the title:
"CAPONE? 1928 antique POKER CHIPS IN BOX OF 25
Item #527501869"
And here is the link to the auction:

We have all seen how sellers (including all of us) try to deduce/infer with all their might to justify an exciting identification for their chips. In the auction cited above, the seller really outdid us all -- concluding that worthless, common paper chips might be Al Capone bakelite speakeasy chips. He also said:
"THIS IS AN OLD BOX OF USED POKER CHIPS IN ITS ORIGINAL BOX. THIS IS FROM AN AGE
WHEN SPEAK EASIES? WERE AROUND. THERE ARE 25 CHIPS IN THE BOX IN DIFFERENT
COLORS, EACH WITH A FOUR LEAF CLOVER IMPRESSED INTO THEM. THEY ARE 1 1/2" IN
DIAMETER. ON THE BOX END IS "25 NOISELESS POKER CHIPS UNBREAKABLE MADE IN
U.S.A. US PAT. NO. 1694103". This pat.# was issued late in 1928. I DO NOT THINK THESE ARE
PLASTIC BUT MAY BE SOME TYPE OF BAKELITE OR WOOD FIBER....THEY ALMOST
LOOK LIKE A HEAVY A HEAVY COATED CARDBOARD? THERE IS A SMALL AMOUNT OF
CHIPPING ON THE COATING OF SOME CHIPS. BOX SHOWS LOTS OF USE WEAR AS SEEN
IN PICTURE COMPLEAT WITH OLD CLOTH TAPE WRAP. A NICE SET OF OLD CHIPS FOR
YOUR COLLECTION. BUYER PAYS $3.20 S/H CHECKS HAVE A 14 DAY WAIT TO CLEAR
BANKS."
