Sorry if I offended you. I didn't mean to imply that I didn't see anything wrong with him stealing your scan. I understand your feelings about this whole situation and I'd feel the same way.

I just think there is some merit to what John Zoesch said. Regardless of how we all feel about this guy's practices, especially stealing the scan, there is something to be said for not backing out of a verbal agreement. However, I know that not everyone feels that way.

Also, I still think that it's an interesting little legal puzzle. Let's see, the guy steals your scan to sell some chips he doesn't have. Hmm... the score is Creep 2, Society 0. Yet, if he was a prick and the amount was sufficient to merit suing you, he might win on the verbal contract issue. Chalk up one more for the Creep. Let's say that everyone on this board gathers behind you and puts our full force into proving he stole the scan from you. You know what, we'd probably have a hard time demonstrating damages and he'd get off easy on that too. Creep 4, Society 0. Ugh. Reminds me of the story of the guy that got sued and lost for booby-trapping his car stereo with razor blades. The thief cut himself pretty bad, sued, and won. Sometimes I think we need some new laws!!!!
