Speaking of fantasy chips, I received a call last week regarding a $5,000 El Rancho chip with the opening/closing dates on it. She wanted to know if I was interested in purchasing the chip at FACE VALUE! I explained to her that I did not collect commemorative chips and that the chip might have a value of $1 - $2. She insisted she had the chip for many years and that a pit boss told her the chip was worth at least $5,000, maybe more. I politely told her she had been misinformed.
