Brian; What you have described in your post are called "Silver Strikes". These machines, once popular in several Atlantic City casinos, have all been discontinued. While the tokens are still redeemable for full face value at the casinos that issued them, they do have a 20%-30% premium above face value to silver strike collectors who need them.
