A recount won't fix it, Ron. What we need is a revote. With a total media blackout until the final results are in. Pre-voting polls are irrelevant. Media predictions are irrelevant. Until the voting starts, then media predictions look like outcome reports. That's what makes voters feel their votes don't count, when the results are already tallied. We don't allow politicians to campaign at the polling places. We shouldn't allow the media to report what isn't true yet. Look what knowing the results before seeing the event did to the popularity of this year's Olympics!
And if you think we can't enforce a blackout, think again. No media allowed on polling properties. Period. Let them ask all the questions they want... it doesn't matter how I tell the reporter I voted, it matters how I voted. Ever know someone to lie to the media? And no government release of voting tallies until the results are final. If it takes days or weeks. Period.
