Re: this chip will be even more valuable...

Josh and Brian,
The Hilton name WILL disappear from the Flamingo by year end. Hotel and casino. The gaming joints were spun off from Hilton to form Park Place, headed by the late Arthur Goldberg. Part of "agreement" was that Park Place would "lease" the Hilton name for 2-3 years. The chips at the Flamingo are one of the few items that still contain the Hilton name. When I was there in Sept, the Hilton letters had been removed from the building and the famous Tulip sign out front.
I will be there all next week and will find out about the chips and pass along the info.

The LV Hilton story gets a little weird. Park Place agreed to sell it to Ed Roski (Silverton owner) before Goldberg passed away. Roski worked a deal to retain the Hilton name for 15 yrs(I think) and the use of the Hilton reservation system to book rooms ONLY at the LV Hilton!! There was some mention in an article a week or so ago that Roski may be having trouble with the financing of this thing. The GCB approved the sale, but as far as I know it has not closed yet. Anyone have up to date info on the LV Hilton?
