Mr. Goldberg came on board with Bally Corporation about 8-9 years ago and literally created a silk purse out of a sows ear. To those of us who worked for Bally Corp. after it purchased the Golden Nugget from Steve Wynn know what I am talking about. After many years of Bally Corp. operating in limbo by marginal management, Mr. Goldberg came on board, cut out a lot of fat (Bally Fitness and Clothing and Shoes) and shared Bally's new-found success with ALL of his employees by way of stock option. My son's college degree and my daughter's two years of college were a direct by product of Mr. Goldberg's generosity and genious. Hilton bought out Bally and Mr. Goldberg stayed on to become the undisputed leader of Hilton gaming. The empire he built eventually turned into what today is Park Place Entertainment which recently absorbed the Caesar's empire. Rest in Peace, Mr. Goldberg.
