Exactly, David. There is nothing short of destruction that will guarantee that a chip will never be used or cashed again. Six months ago who would not have said this Bonanza chip was obsolete? The Chip Rack even has a different listing for Bonanza Inn vs. Bonanza Casino. The "Bonanza Inn" doesn't exist any more. I'm amazed gaming approved using these chips. But they did, and now they're not obsolete any more. We have to use the best information available at the time to determine whether a chip is obsolete or not. Sorta like "rare" <g>!
What we ought to be focusing on are the clear violations, like Dean's auction. Or those who claim the older Boomtown Verdi chips are obsolete. There are 3 varieties of the $5, none ever pulled from the tables, although the oldest with no NV can be hard to find.
