Since there seems to be about 9 interpretations for 10 posts, it seems to be the only clear cut and absolute meaning of OBSOLETE "Should be" one of the three examples below, from the lake Tahoe area:
The Glass Crutch...open 1962-1967, building remains, but boarded up since closing.
The Tahoe Village Casino...open 1946-1951, closed and building removed.
Barney's, Lake Tahoe...closed, building remodeled, new owners and operation.
Those seem to me to be about the only completely safe versions of "Obsolete", in its truest meaning.
Webster's dictionary, adj. "out of use, discarded, as in a word or custom.
