Two weeks was my critical time. The first two weeks were easy, then I started to forget how nasty the world is when it smells like the bottom of an ashtray, and the burn holes in my favorite shirt, and the agony when you just can't light up... and started remembering how good that first cigarette in the morning tastes (even though they really taste like sh!t). Addiction is a funny thing. It twists your mind, makes you think things are normal that are clearly absurb when you're not under the influence. Week four was the real turning point, when I was able to think clearly and rationally about the whole mess.
Never forget... addiction clouds your thinking. The moment you dare to think you can have just one cigarette, you've lost. Do something really nice for yourself, and stick with it. You'll thank yourself someday.
