I just finished reading the thread below... VERY interesting!... and I agree with you, for whatever that's worth. If we do not KNOW what all $100 Thunderbird chips were issued by the casino, and a previously unknown $100 Thunderbird chip surfaces, is it an original item, or is it only purporting to be original?
Websters defines purport: to profess or claim as it's meaning; to give the appearance, often falsely, of being, intending, etc.
In the world of casino chips, if an imitation is made such that it can fool serious, knowledgable collectors, then I maintain it purports. But what do I know?
