Without a doubt, Michael. To do otherwise would be STUPID (for several reasons, including the fact that you'd win less AND the fact that you'd let everyone else know that you're an idiot). And I agree that there is no "ethical" issue involved.

In some "friendly" games, check-raising is considered "impolite" or some such nonsense. Only weak players object to check-raising -- and that's just because they don't know how to play the game and want to minimize their disadvantage.
