I was at Caesars Indiana riverboat tonight. At about midnight, we sat out on the deck as the Belterra riverboat passed by us on the last leg of its journey from New Orleans to the Indiana/Ky. border. The ship was lit up beautifully as it passed by over on the far side of the Ohio. "Man the torpedoes" one of the Caesars staff joked. The Belterra will make four boats within an hour stretch on the Ohio in Southern Indiana. Nobody thinks all four will last. Caesars "owns" Louisville, Argosy "owns" Cincinnati, and in between, the Grand Victoria and Belterra are "gambling." One will probably be an obsolete chip within a few years.

The Belterra is set for opening on October 21st, subject to change of course.
