I do not have any chips but I do have a story. Last month I took a "Casino Express" flight from San Antonio to Elko, NV. After a day of chip collecting I decided to move on. I tried to rent a car in Elko. Not one car available. They said it was due to the forest fires in NV--the fire fighters had rented all the available vehicles. So--I took the bus to Battle Mountain to check out the Owl Club and the Nevada Hotel. The Owl Club was totally deserted and workers were inside doing remodeling. I went in and asked about any OWL chips/memorabilia. They said nothing was left. I left but then went back to see if there were any posters or signs. There was an Owl Club Nevada Gaming Commission sign. I went up to one of the workers--turned out he was the new owner--and asked if I could buy the sign. He went with me to look at it--then said, "No" he was going to open the club again and would probably need the sign. I went 20 feet next door to the Nevada Hotel. They had 1 table--it did not open until 5:00. The last bus of the afternoon left at 3:00. I did not want to get stuck in Battle Mountain for 8-9 hours so I left with no chips. Did manage to get a couple of Nevada Hotel tokens. Rode the bus back to Elko listening all the way to a seat mate who was a Christian Creationist who was presenting a program in Elko that night on why dinosaurs did not evolve.
