Last weekend while waiting for my wife to get in to town, via stand-by status from Vermont, I played some poker at my favorite haunt (the Excalibur). At one point this check passed in front of me and before it got away, I asked the person dragging the pot if I could buy it. He said sure. When I picked it up I immediately noticed that one side was very yellow, and the other side was normal. When I got home I took a closer look and have discovered that the yellowing is not a stain! Having a slight printing background, it appears to me that the printed inlay was way out of calibration. In effect, it is a yellow and white print. What is even more peculiar is that the UV marking does not exist on that side only.
Note: This scan is of two different checks. However, the other side of the left check is just like the image of the right check.
Is this then an error check?
Thanks, Jim Follis
