....when something like a landmark or building is named after someone, the apostrophy is dropped. After all, in many cases, they don't own it, so the apostrophy doesn't belong.
While Zebulon Pike sorta discovered the mountain named after him, it is officially known as Pikes Peak.
There's also an Ormes Peak on the front range of the rockies. ...I had nothing to do with that.<G> Something that's unusual about Ormes Peak (at least in my case) is, at it's base is a canyon the bears my mother's maiden name. Destiny brought me here!
