I don't believe that will happen as long as we judge our candidates by TV sound bites. Even the "debates" are nothing more than beauty contests. Do I sound cynical? I suppose so. I love my country, and my observations of what we have become cause me a lot of pain.

I belove that it was Thomas Jefferson who said that a democracy is doomed to failure without an informed electorate. When the emerging voting public receives their world-view from MTV, we are well on our way to that failure.
