... proverbial head!!

I have a saying on the bottom of my legal letterhead which reads as follows:

"No man has greater courage, honor and integrity than he who forthrightly accepts responsibility for his actions, regardless of the consequences."

I first wrote that in 1976 when serving as supervisor of a DA program for repeat offender drunk drivers.

What we are seeing in our society, of course, is the flip side; no one wants to accept responsbility for his own actions and their consequences. There have been numerous examples, of course (though the continued assaults on the tabacco and gun industries are probably the most visible).

In just over 50 years, we have gone from "the greatest generation" to the most self-centered, egotistical, self-indulgent, whiny, cry-baby society in the history of the world.
