Wonder where the Homestead Club ID came from?
From what I learned, Joe Bauer could have played poker with every human in the Tri-state area. With all the other crooked devises at the Arrowhead Inn, I bet he had the shades in the poker game also.
BTW shaded decks were and still are famous/infamous in the area. I ran into shades at a poker game in 1977 in Ludlow, KY.
It was actually kind of funny.
I watched the game for about 15 minutes, noticed the shades, and said "Deal Me In". In about 10 minutes I figured out who was reading the shades, called him down and beat him with Ace high in a real wild game called "Insey". (All 7 cards are face down) Five minutes later a gorilla taped me on the shoulder and asked me if I was ready to cash out.
"DUH" yes I guess so!!!!!!!
