I just returned from a couple of weeks of hiking and glacier watching in Canada and brought back a handfull of these Lake City Casino $5 chips. This was the only casino I ran across along my path through BC and Alberta. Happened to find this one as my Rocky Mountaineer train stopped for the night in Kamloops and the casino had an adv in the train's magazine. Fairly small place right downtown with 2-3 BJ tables, roulette, Caribbean Stud, and I believe Pai Gow. Lots of slot machines... no video poker as this was B.C. I understand these same chips are used in two other small BC towns but I forget the name if them.
I'd trade the $5 chip for 4 slot cards I don't have (preferably non Nevada) or sell one for $6 postage paid (this is a C$ denominated chip, of course).
By the way SteveG, the cold spell you mentioned in Montana definitely hit Alberta as well. Pretty cold most of my stay with new snow dusting most of the peaks down to 10,000'. I spent time in Jasper and Banff and would definitely recommend Jasper if you like hiking in the mountains. Banff is nice, but pretty much an upscale skiiers and vacationeer's town now.
