We haven't been here through a winter yet, but from what we're told, it snows off and on. Stays below freezing most of the winter. Klamath Lake freezes over. It has 240 miles of shore line. The largest lake in Oregon. The main roads are usually clear most of the winter. The air is very dry and crisp, and having been here a few times durring the winter, I can personally tell you that the View of Crater Lake, Mt. McLaughlin, Mt. Shasta and all the other snow capped peaks, especailly when viewed from across the lake and on a moon lit night, will take your breath away!!
Grants Pass is 100+/- miles to the west of Klamath Falls and about 3000 ft lower in elevation, and yes it it very nice over there. We went YURT camping over by there the first week of june. It was Great. They, on the average, stay about 10 degrees warmer than us year round.
I guess it shows that we really love it here in K-Falls. I've never met so many genuinly nice people. It's almost like it's too good to be true here. Sure hope we don't wake up some day!! Toni
