Earlier today I posted an image of the General’s RR, as I received it from the previous participant. I posted the image because I was a little peeved that some of the items were rather inferior and some were not in accordance with the type of RR that Chuck was promoting. But no sooner had I posted the image, than did I regret having done so. This is because, my action merely pointed out the mistakes, or mis-interpretations, or mis-communications, or out-right deceit of others, where there is no possibility for correction. (I imagine some people are lying low right now.) And in that vein, I could careless who is at fault and I will do nothing to find him, or her, or them. It simply does not matter at this point, to me.
I have done what I can to improve the condition of the RR, and it will be on its way to Michael Richter tomorrow. For those of you who are interested, you may view the outgoing package by clicking on the link below.
Personally, I like Round Robins and I find that they fill major voids in my collection. They allow me to obtain, at face value (plus postage), chips that I would otherwise have to obtain from E-Bay or at dealer pricing. Yet at the same time, I am very disappointed in the quality of chips that some people put in the RR’s that have passed through my hands. However, I believe that I have stumbled upon a way to reduce the number of bad chips that find their way into an RR that I am manifested to.
From this point forward, any RR that I am included in, I will be scanning and posting both the incoming package and the outgoing package. I believe that this will accomplish two things. 1. People will think twice before adding junk to an RR that includes me, and it hasn’t reached me yet, and 2., It will give non-participants a greater insight into what they are missing. Quite possibly, and frankly, very hopefully, this action will improve the quality of future RR’s. I know that many people, with very good traders, avoid RR’s because of this problem.
For those who would like to do likewise, I am in a position to make available image "up-load" space, unless Greg would like first crack at it. Please feel free to e:mail me and we can discuss the specifics.
Otherwise, please be advised that I intend to post all incoming and outgoing RR’s that pass my way. Please consider this whenever I ask to participate in one of your RR’s, or when I am a participant behind you in an RR.
Thank you,
Jim Follis
